Developing a Site Analysis
The purpose of the site analysis is to take a more in-depth look at your landscape. By analyzing the factors you recorded in your site inventory you will now look at the pros and cons of your landscape's elements. First, go back to your objectives list and note what is needed to achieve your landscaping goal. Next, by over-laying your site inventory with tracing paper begin analyzing the area's micro-climate. For example, noticing that strong winds hit the northern side of your home; adding a windbreak would reduce heating cost. As a result, your site analysis will lead you to PLANTING WITH PURPOSE and reducing those energy cost.
